Pay attention to the ones who ask how you are, who are happy for your happiness. Pay attention to the way they show up out of nowhere just to envelope you in a hug or a lay a delicious kiss on you or share a cup of coffee – or all three if you’re lucky! Pay attention to the ones who throw their joy and enthusiasm around like Mardi Gras beads. Pay attention to the way they hold you up when you’re weak and have your back when you’re tired, the ones who ask how they can help and actually do it. Pay attention to the ones who encourage you, who believe in you, who love you and show it.

Sometimes it might be hard to pay attention to these people because they may seem hard to find, elusive. But there’s a trick.

Walk over to a mirror. Look into it. You can always – always – BE one of these people.
